Featuring Northcott's Yeti for Winter flannel collection.
The picture blocks are trimmed and a narrow border is added to make them all uniform in size. Then using the stitch and flip method, the corner triangles are added. This turns the plain blocks into snowballs. This same stitch and flip method is used to create the off-setting blocks. By pressing the seams in opposite directions on the two different blocks, the intersections will all lock and create a very square quilt. This locking intersection will also help to reduce the slipping that so many quilters experience with flannel. The flipped corners also create an optical illusion of on on-point hour glass block in every corner.
